Membership

To begin your practice of karate at the Vancouver Creekside dojo, all you need to do is:

  1. Register at the Creekside Community Centre 
  2. Pay the drop in or semester fee. 

However, to take your practice to the next level you should become a Canada Shotokan Karate (CSK) member. Ask the instructor for details.

Canada Shotokan Karate Membership

Canada Shotokan Karate (CSK) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching karate as a martial art. CSK was formed in 1972 by Gene Malec, George Quessy, and Norman Welch and is an affiliate of Shotokan Karate of America (SKA). Since its inception, CSK has grown to 21 dojos across the Canada.

Membership Cost

  • New members pay $75 for the first year’s dues
  • Non-black belts pay $100 per year

Membership benefits

  • Participate in kyu tests
  • Get the opportunity to attend practices with Ohshima Sensei
  • Participate in other CSK activities
